Maturity:
Early maturing. Approximately 50 - 60 days to maturity for Baby Gems, and 70 - 80 days for mature fruit.
Plant Characteristics:
A vigorous and productive plant with short internodes. Shorter vines allow higher plant densities and easier management in early crop stages.
Fruit Characteristics:
Round, dark green fruit with a small blossom end scar. Fruit are round from a very small size making STAR 8001 a very good choice for baby gem squash production.
Yield Potential:
High with the potential to set fruit at each node. Early maturity and suitability of small fruit for the baby market offer flexibility in marketing strategy.
