Plant Characteristics:
A very vigorous plant with high, uniform yield. Healthy leaf cover that protects the fruit against sunburn, and high heat tolerance.
Fruit Characteristics:
Large, uniform, cylindrical elongated fruit with weight of 10 - 13kg. The rind has a medium green colour with light green stripes. The flesh has a brilliant red colour, with good flavour and high brix.
Disease Resistance:
IR: Fusarium (Fon) 0,1 and Anthracnose (Co) 1.
Plant Spacing:
3,000 to 4,000 plants per ha for dry land plantings. 6,000 to 8,000 plants per ha for irrigated plantings.
Adaption:
STAR 9906 is recommended for early and main season production.
Pollinator:
Approximately 7 male flowers develop for every female flower. When flowers appear, 2 to 4 bee hives should be placed per ha.
