The four green-fleshed Honeydew varieties complement each other and have been planted successfully by growers for a number of years. They are well

adapted to various climatic conditions and growing areas, and deliver dependable

yields of quality fruit.

Herald is ideal for winter and spring production in the mild Northern growing regions, and late-season production in the Southern growing regions. It produces vigorous vines with resistance to Fusarium. The vines are high yielding and produce very attractive, oval fruit of medium to large size during autumn, winter and spring. The fruit reaches maturity at around 11 – 12 weeks after planting and has an attractive smooth, off-white skin. The flesh is mid-green with a medium-size seed cavity, high brix and very good flavour, even in winter.

Salgari is well known for early- and late-season production in the mild Northern and Southern growing regions. This variety produces vigorous vines with resistance to Fusarium, as well as improved resistance to powdery mildew. The plants are very high yielding and produce very attractive, uniform, off-white, oval fruit with medium to large fruit that reaches maturity at around 11 weeks after planting. The flesh is mid-green and firm, with a tight seed cavity and exceptional quality fruit.

Sweet Peridot* is an early-maturing variety with good field adaptability for summer production. The variety produces vigorous vines with resistance to Fusarium, as well as powdery mildew. The vines produce a very high yield of smooth, off-white, round, medium-sized fruit that mature around 11 weeks after planting. The flesh has a tight cavity with light green colour, firm texture, high brix and very aromatic flavour.

Honey Star is another early-maturing variety that is widely adapted for summeR season production, and well proven in different growing conditions. The variety produces vigorous vines with resistance to Fusarium, as well as powdery mildew. The plants produce a very high yield of attractive, off-white, round, medium-sized fruit that mature around 11 weeks after planting. The flesh is light green and firm, with very high brix and excellent flavour.
