Peregrine

A DETERMINATE SALADETTE TOMATO WITH EXCELLENT FRUIT QUALITY ON A HIGHLY DISEASE RESISTANT PLANT
• Semi-determinate variety with high yield
• Extending bearing period
• Good disease resistance package
• Exceptional leaf disease tolerance
• Ideal for fresh and informal markets

A semi-determinate processing tomato hybrid with an extended set suited to open-field production for the fresh and informal market as a trellised or untrellised type.

Medium maturing variety. In Summer plantings the first fruit will mature in 75 - 80 days after transplanting. The date of harvesting may vary by as much as 10 days between early and late season plantings. This needs to be taken into consideration when planning planting schedules under different growing conditions.

Vigorous with exceptional leaf cover on a highly disease tolerant plant with a semi- determinate growth habit.

Peregrine could be grown without trellising, it is highly recommended to be trellised to 1 – 3 wires. The planting density should be chosen to give 15,000 - 21,000 plants per hectare. The row spacing should not be less than 35cm between plants. For untrellised production, a plant population of 10,000 - 15,000 plants per hectare with a row spacing of not less than 2 - 2.5m and an in-row spacing of 27 - 30 cm is recommended

Peregrine has a very high quality blocky/ cylindrical fruit with an average mass of 120 - 140 g. Fruit quality is exceptional with a deep red colour, thick walls, good flavour and no green shoulders clean shoulders. Peregrine have a very high marketable yield potential; a high percentage of large first grades can be expected.

Peregrine is a Blye type hybrid with a very good disease resistance package and comparable yield that it maintains well later into the season. It also has very good size potential.
