Early to medium maturing variety. In Summer plantings the first fruit will mature in 80 days after transplanting. CASSANDRA has high quality blocky/egg shaped fruit with an average mass of 140 - 160g. Fruit quality is exceptional with a deep red colour, thick walls, good flavour and no green shoulders present.
Although CASSANDRA could be grown without trellising, it is highly recommended to be trellised to 1 – 3 wires. The planting density should be chosen to give 15,000 - 21,000 plants per hectare. The row spacing should not be less than 35cm between plants. For un trellised production, a plant population of 10,000 - 15,000 plants per hectare with a row spacing of not less than 2 - 2.5m and an in-row spacing of 27 - 30 cm is recommended.
HR: Verticillium Wilt (Va,Vd), Fusarium Wilt (Fol: 1 - 3), Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV), Tomato Yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV)(Ty-3 gene).
IR: Root-knot Nematodes (Ma, Mi,Mj), Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV). Bacterial spec (Pst)
