Plant Characteristics:
A vigorous plant with a healthy leaf cover that protects the fruit against sunburn. Uniform fruit set makes harvesting easier. Reducing nitrogen after flowering (while maintaining plant health and vigour) enhances shelf life and fruit quality.
Fruit Characteristics:
Harvest indicators include net development, the change of the rind colour from grey-green to straw colour, and cracking around the peduncle. Medium to large sized fruit with weight of 1.7 – 2.2 kg. The shape is oval with a well-developed, medium to coarse net (even on later fruit sets). VENUS has firm and orange flesh, small seed cavity, high brix and excellent eating quality.
