90 – 95 days from sowing.
Fruit Characteristics:
Large average fruit size (2 Kg+) in summer, 0.9 – 1.4 Kg in winter. Shape is typically a thick-necked Waltham. Good uniformity of size and shape. High quality flesh with good recovery rate when peeled.
Plant Characteristics:
A vining type of growth habit with moderate to good vigour. Large leaves provide good sunburn protection to developing fruit.
Features & Benefits:
Krista is able to produce the preferred size of fruit under cool conditions. Other varieties tend to produce fruit which is too small with consequent low yields. Fruit are uniform in size and shape and there is a high marketable percentage. The large fruit produced in summer may be used for processing as well as for fresh market.
